Its time we start talking about "global though and emotion pollution".
Every house, group, town, city, state, country are all a collection of thoughts and emotions. If you could quantify these you could measure the amount of "waste" often with tremendously long half life periods that many of us are disposing into this pool. This is the greatest pollution from which infact all other pollutions even start to originate.
Our role during this life is to put some effort in trying to clean up this pool just like BP is now trying to clean up the oil mess.

They are allocating supplemental greencard numbers for Z visa holders with a flexible limit and this supplemental allocation will go away once all Z visa holders adjust (end of page 287 and beginning of page 288).

I disagree that this is a plan at the government level to make EB immigration on par with family based immigration.
Diversity is a cornerstone of the US immigration policy. It is present in both the main types of US immigration. You can argue about its merits and demerits, however when major immigration reform was debated and legislated in the 60s, diversity was set as a basis. The Diversity visa lottery speaks to this.
The H1b visa(with its absent country quotas), has now come into collision with an EB system which has these quotas. That is why we are seeing this mess.

I did not go to DC because i did not want to get the green card this way.I grew upwatching aunts,uncles coming from USA bearing gifts.I grew up watching cousins go for USA for higher studies.It used to be so special. Now its become so cheap. Now you guys have literally taken it to the streets. There's no difference between those illegal immigrants and us. This H1visa has ruined it for really smart students who come here on F1 with full scholarship.
This software industry and these cheap bodyshopping companies made it nothing more than a whore business.
My heart is broken. I dont care anymore.thats why i did not come to DC.
i'm not in software either and i have the equivalent of a doctorate and another masters and multiple specialty certifications. if you feel this way you do...you are venting your frustration about body shoppers on us- fine. your prerogative. but why are you here at all? this organization exists to end retrogression. who is "you"? as far as i can see you signed up to be a member.
by going to DC i felt like i did something to get attention to the problem. the resolution will come from congress not us. it is our right to petition, and we did. if we do not create awareness, nobody will help- with retrogression or with exploitative body shoppers. please direct your bitterness where it belongs- not on those who try to help.
each person here is a member and if they participate they do it for themselves. you too are here and lurk around reading the forums for yourself. there is vested interest in it, so maybe you are no better?
we did not cheapen green cards, you are cheapening us, people like you who are struggling through the process and in the process you cheapen yourself too. if you do not want your green card like this, it's simple, do not lurk around here.

Thanks for listening, I googgled to see if there are others like me and how the mess was solved.. I dont want to have problems down the line when naturalization comes around.
If it turns out that GC was indeed approved erroneously, I will return it and that goes without saying...but who can tell how long will re-instating of AOS take and also I wish to know how I can keep my H1 from being denied. Luckily I am still with GC sponsoring employer, but ...still, I did not need all this hassle..
I know I have received approved RIR Labor in June 2004 (it was for the same category EB3 ROW), but I do not know if the company filed I-140 or not. I will have to dig up old contacts from the company and inquire...But that was 6 yrs ago and I am not sure where people are...
Anyways, I will try to patienty wait to get the hard copy of whatever USCIS is sending to check for Priority Date, and if it is not what I expect it to be (Nov 2005), I will call TSC to inquire.

It depends on the occupation, obviously for a welder or cook level II will be pretty low. For say a mechanical or electrical engineer or physicist - entry-level position requiring a MS degree the max level will be level II.
For positions requiring PhD or MS+experience it will be Level III or IV.
In conclusion, an applicant for such a position can be classified as EB2 even if wage is at Level II.
Level I can never be EB2.
To get the most accurate information, pls filter only Level I and occupations like cooks, welders, technicians. USCIS has been reluctant to approve EB2 for "computer programmers", they have approved EB2 for other advanced computer-related professions

What is dangerous is half knowledge. There is no such law which prohibits you from using AC-21 and doing an H-1 transfer to the new company. In fact most lawyers recommend that
prince_charming, you had mentioned that you had done H1 transfer with AC21.
I think it was mentioned in one of the posts in Murthy site that such a situation could lead to denial of I-485 as it would constitute abandonment of AOS application. One should use EAD after filling AC21.

What I refute is the argument portrayed by misinformed members that the shift in power was caused significantly by the anti illegal alien position. It is not true. That's all I am saying.
Contrary to belief of some members, I am not disappointed with this. I will continue to be your Ombudsman as usual and report everything, probably you will hear more good news for those who believe that amnesty is the way to go. Facts are facts. I am not here to defend any side.

I had been in bench since the beginning of this year ( down but NOT OUT :) ). Fortunately was able to get a permanent job just last month. This means moving to a new place. In Ohio, after 16 years Dems - Mr Strickland is elected. Wondering whether he is pro immigration or not.
I looked at his website, he do talks about Child welfare, Create schools that work for every child, creating jobs and further he says - "skills for high-quality jobs" and "create/attract jobs worthy of Ohio workers ".
Does it really mean he is "Pro- Immigration"? and whether its advisbile to contact him or its "TOO Early" to contact conressmans in your area?
Bit confused..needs decide our strategy...Does IV core team & Team members will help every individual on this "sensitive" issue?
Only 10% of the general public said immigration is the most important issue for them - and mind you, ILLEGAL immigration and amnesty to illegal aliens is what comes to mind of most average americans. I watched msnbc throughout and every dem interviewed mentioned immigration reform. I do not think in public speeches Nancy and Hillary mentioned imm.
The thing is with the new majority, we should see some activity on imm as a whole.
