Spoke to Congresswoman Office personnel in CA . Congresswoman Eshoo office staff and Congresswoman Lofgren office staff. Going to contact Senator Clinton. I had contributed towards her Presidential Campaign.
Going to meet Congress Congresswoman Eshoo staff next week.
If you are not aware of campaign finance laws , get in touch with them and make em aware of the mistake you made and you should get your check back if you are not a citizen or PR.

It really depends on who you ask. But my point is if you decide to stay in US in the long run, aren't immigrant divided between their kids and their parents?
I dont think one is necessarily doing kids a dis-service by electing to go back. On the contrary, kids experience tremendous personal growth through interaction with extended family which is not possible in a foreign land.

I personally have nothing against anyone in core team and feel that these guys been doing their best effort to help the community. But their strategy is flawed. We are not aligned with right people and we don't speak up. We don't followup and hit hard on people who are working against our agenda. When illegal immigrant community can get media limelight , why we cannot ? We were all banking on democrats to help us and here is the result. We as IV ans need to wake up and start working closely with pro-business community. We need to approach media to bash anyone who uses race, national orign as a medium to undermine our long term agenda.
We all have the track record for IV till this date and we have not accomplished anything from July 07.We don't have media coverage and no one in political circle knows IV as a viable organization . If media coverage calls for doing something out of box to attract media attention , let's do it. We sent flowers, we attracted media attention. Sen Lugar: Since the bill has no language yet, he would like to wait before he gives an opinion. He has previously supported immigration reform. He is continuing to meet with Sen. Schumer
Sen. Enzi: Does not support amnesty and he will let us know what his position on high skilled immigrant provisions in a week

Sen. Hatch: Staff read the press release regarding yesterday's framework, which states that this is partisan politics, and border enforcement has to be done first. Told him our position and asked for support

If somebody is eligible to jump from Eb3 -> EB2, then he should be allowed to jump.
I am EB2. I had to change my job as my previous employer didnot allow me to file in EB2 as I didnot have prior experience even though i have MS from USA.
I changed my job and now I am in EB2. My PD is Feb 2008. Sucks that I missed the bus in July 2007.
Nobody should go through what I went through. If somebody is eligible to jump, then he should jump from EB3->EB2.
Considering the current delays in labour and I140 approvals, I think the entire process of filing for new labor, then I140 and the PD porting will take around 2yrs if there are no Queries. :p
Unless somebody's PD is mid 2006 or 2007 above in EB3, I dont think this EB3->EB2 jump will be helpful. :rolleyes:

What you are saying is absolutely right and there is no doubt what you are doing is the need of this hour but my guess is most of the people who are still waiting from 2001.2002 or 2003 have some reasons to Not do it. For me my employer is not ready to take the pain of going thru another GC process, even though I pay all the expenses, and I am not able to find a sponsor, I'm sure there are many in similar situation..

Who knows, maybe Obama is preparing for CIR 2009 now. Before CIR he maybe planning to push all legal EB cases. Remember July 2007 fiasco happened in the backdrop of CIR 2007.

My guess is , The new president appears to be strict. So his question to the department very soon will be "What the heck you've been doing with all these cases not touched so far. So they want to do their part even before the big boss asks them. So that way the only issue will be lack of numbers, else everything is ready and look, we did our job. We're very efficient :)

My guess is that they moved the dates so that any one missed the train in jul 2007 will be able to file 485 and/or add spouses to the existing applications. Looks like it will remain there for some time atleast, may be till the year end.
