Now the Wall Street Journal picks up the theme. Words are nice. But if you can't control the vitriol coming from the Tea Party wing and actually work with Dems on immigration reform, you're not going to reverse the damage. In short, conservative Hispanics still perceive the GOP as anti-them. And PR campaigns aren't going to fix that problem. But promoting pro-immigration candidates, as some groups mentioned in the article are doing, is a hopeful sign.

These numbers include Family Based and as per my understanding 90 % of the applications are FB based.
For us who are EB based, the EB backlog should be more realistic and I am not sure how do we get them!

Hello,
Please let me know if anybody is travelling from BLR(Bangalore) to BOS (Boston) by British Airways on Mar 1 2011.
Because my mother-in-law is visiting US and she is travelling alone. If some travel companion is there it will be helpful as she does't speak english.

Hello All,
I have my EAD from Employer A. I have accepted fulltime offer from Employer B. I do not wish to file AC21 but would like to send G28 form to USCIS to change the representation so that I could recieve any queries from USCIS. My question is -
1. Would it be advisable to pick a attorney and ask him to file G28 so he could get any communications from USCIS.
OR
2. Would it be ok if I file G28 so I could get any communications from USCIS. Later, in case When I need to respond may be I could hire an attorney to respond to the query.
3. Also does not making address change in AR 11 automatically make the address change on all my cases like 485,EAD,AP etc? I am asking this because only AP and EAD are sent to me with address change but last query on 485 went to my attorney's address.
Also appreciate any of your advice to handle my case effectively after changing my employer.

I have been a silent user of IV for a very long time. When the Action item came for FOIA, I was wondering why such important information is buried in several threads. Then I started looking around in the IV site and found Action Alert button in home page. I saw this button for the first time after using IV for months and months. I just jump into the forum and start reading. I believe this button is not so obvious and it doesn't grab attention.
I think Action Alert is the first thing that users should see, so that they can know what IV is doing and how they can contribute.
IV core team / pappu - Could you please consider renaming this button and moving it so that it is very obvious to all users.

The perjury trial of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby goes to the jury this week. The case speaks to several issues -- how the Bush administration deals with critics of the war in Iraq, and the games that Washington's reporters and politicians play with each other. As far as the jury is concerned, however, the case is about only one thing: lying.
One particularly well-qualified witness on this subject was not called by either the prosecution or the defense, so today we cross-examine Robert Feldman ourselves. Feldman is a social psychologist at the University of Massachusetts who studies lying in everyday life, and his findings are just the kind of thing that Libby's lawyers could have pounced on.
Feldman's experiments show that stern-faced judicial proceedings about perjury are as remote from the realities of human behavior as President Bush is from the Nobel Peace Prize. For one thing, lying plays a more complex role in human relationships than the black-and-white legal view recognizes. It is also so commonplace in everyday life that putting people on trial for lying is somewhat like putting them on trial for breathing.
Experiments have found that ordinary people tell about two lies every 10 minutes, with some people getting in as many as a dozen falsehoods in that period. More interestingly -- and Libby might see this as the silver lining if he is found guilty -- Feldman also found that liars tend to be more popular than honest people. (Ever notice how popular politicians somehow change their minds on controversial issues such as the war in Iraq at the exact moment that public opinion on those issues changes?)

A new poll from ABC News shows a seemingly contradictory result. Nearly six in ten support the controversial Arizona law SB1070. That will make the Tea Party crowd happy. But the buried headline is that almost the same number support legalizing illegally present immigrants. Why the seemingly conflicting data? My labor/I-140 documents show my salary to be 85K, I am yet to receive my I-140 approval from Nebraska Processing Center, filed in June 2006 under EB-2. Would it cause any problems when I file my I-485 ( priority date March 2004 ) next year if the salary for 2006 is less than 85K ? I was unemployed for two months this year unexpectedly. Thank you for your responses.
